My passport is lost or stolen — can you still help?
Yes. Lost, stolen and damaged passports go through the 7-Day Fast Track service (HM Passport Office doesn't allow the 2-Day Premium for these). We handle the lost/stolen declaration as part of the application, attend the appointment for you, and HMPO posts the new passport to you — it can take up to 7 days, but often arrives much sooner.
Do I have to go anywhere?
No. You never travel or take time off. You fill in our short form, send us a photo of yourself taken on your phone, and sign a one-page letter of consent (we send it to you pre-filled). A Next Day Passport representative attends HM Passport Office on your behalf.
Where does the new passport get sent?
7-Day Fast Track: HM Passport Office posts it by tracked delivery to the UK address you give us — home, work or a family member's — and someone needs to be in to sign. 2-Day Premium: we collect it at the passport office the same day and post it tracked or hand-deliver it.
What's a photo code, and do I need one?
Some photo shops and booths give you a digital photo code. If you have one, give it to us and you don't need to send a photo. If you don't, take a photo on your phone against a plain light wall — we check it against HMPO's rules before anything is submitted.
Who confirms my identity for a lost passport or a child's application?
HM Passport Office asks someone who has known you (or the child's parent) for two years — a professional such as a teacher, nurse, accountant or manager, not a relative — to confirm your identity online. It takes them two minutes on a link HMPO emails them. We tell you exactly who qualifies and when it needs doing.
How fast is "fast"?
Appointments are usually available within a day or two at most offices. 2-Day Premium (adult renewals): the passport is printed about four hours after the appointment and we collect it the same day. 7-Day Fast Track: HMPO posts it to you — up to 7 days, but often much sooner. All subject to HMPO appointment availability, which we check live.
Can you renew a child's passport?
